ROBERT L. HUMMEL COMPANIES

The Hummel Construction Company has grown since incorporation to 30 employees, expanding to 60 during the peak construction season. The core group of employees are long in tenure, many having spent over 30 years with the company. This family business started as a small trucking and excavating firm, expanding vertically into mass earth work, underground improvements, black top paving, sewer and water system installation and development of sanitary treatment facilities. Mr. Hummel is the President of the Company, his son Rob is the Vice President, his sister Linda is the Secretary, and his wife Erika is the Treasurer. The Hummel Construction Company remains a favored contractor by many developers, home builders and municipalities. Mr. Hummel has built the company with a foundation built on the values of integrity and quality.

In the Village of Palatine, The Hummel Construction Company is consistently contracted for services ranging from demolition, to utility construction to snow and ice control. Hummel employees are treated exceptionally fairly, which has fostered a loyal and competent work force. This has a very positive influence on job performance and customer satisfaction. The reputation Mr. Hummel enjoys as a result of the performance of The Hummel Construction Company is also extended to Mr. Hummel’s performance in home building. While Village staff members frequently are forced into a mediator’s role between new-resident and developer/builder, the Hummel approach has exceeded the expectations of both their customers and staff in terms of construction quality and responsiveness. Further, is there is a workmanship concern (even ten years later…), Mr. Hummel is quick to resolve the issue. This brand of trust and responsiveness has earned Mr. Hummel a reputation above reproach in the northwest suburbs.

Hummel Custom Homes is the exclusive builder for various real estate holdings owned by Mr. Hummel. Over the past several years, Mr. Hummel has accumulated various parcels of property in Illinois, Wisconsin and Missouri. Over the past decade, his main focus was entitling properties for development. Hummel Custom Homes has built over 100 homes in the Chicago metro area. Most recently, Mr. Hummel completed an annexation and rezoning of a 600 acre country club and estate subdivision in Hawthorne Woods. Mountain Ridge of Pineville project in southwest Missouri, 10 miles from corporate campuses located in Bentonville, Arkansas (Wal-mart, Sam’s Club, J.B. Hunt, Tyson Chicken, etc. This project is approximately 900 acres and will yield approximately 900 single family homes, 187 town homes. In addition to the four model homes that are nearing completion, a deep well and 1.5 miles of on-site water main installation is underway. An elaborate entry monument and interior road system for the first phase of 30 lots is nearing completion. A preliminary sales effort is just beginning, with four units now under contract. This project was pursued after substantive market research suggested that the growth pressure from many of these fortune 500 companies would fuel demand for high-quality executive homes, and the local real estate market and economy would meet minimum IRR expectations.

                                 MOUNTAIN RIDGE MANAGEMENT

Rusty Enlow, General Project Manager, Mr. Enlow was the first Executive Director of the McDonald County Community Development Council, Inc... A non-profit organization dedicated to the improvement of McDonald County a post he held for 3 years. He worked extensively on economic development and community development activities for the county acting as a liaison between the county, state government and businesses and developers looking at coming into one of the fastest growing areas in the United States. By writing grants for the county and cities, he helped facilitate many of the developments in the county including a 190 acre development with Wal-mart. Working with the Missouri Department of Transportation, on the current four lanes Mr. Enlow is the most qualified person in the county for information about development and transportation in McDonald County. With a degree in Finance a licensed Realtor and a background in banking Mr. Enlow handles management of the project as well as the marketing and sales for Mountain Ridge.

                                                     McDonald COUNTY

The 2000 census put McDonald County as one of the top ten fastest growing counties in Missouri, growth rate 28%. In 2002 McDonald County was included in the Metropolitan Area of Northwest Arkansas, the growth that had been happening exclusively in Northwest Arkansas had finally reached Missouri partly because of the development of the new 4 lane highway project that is now nearing completion. With the construction of a new Super center just six miles from Mountain Ridge in Missouri and the four lane highway running along the east side of the development with on and off ramps adjacent to the entrance this location as well as the rest of the county has become prime real estate. McDonald County has long been known to be a tourist area during the summers because of all the creeks and rivers that lend themselves to canoeing and camping (Elk River, Big Sugar, Little Sugar, Indian Creek).  The beautiful hills and valleys lend themselves naturally for excellent building sites. A perfect place for children to grow up or for adults to retire to because of all the activities, golf courses both north and south, shopping either in Springdale, Bentonville, Rogers or  North to Neosho, Joplin, or Springfield. With the enormous amount of Missouri Department of Conservation Lands in the county and the Big Sugar Creek State Park just minutes away from Mountain Ridge every weekend could be a new adventure to enjoy the outdoors. According to the 2000 census McDonald County has 21,681 in total population, Pineville is the county seat but Anderson is the largest town with a population of 1,857. The county Library is a relatively new facility located in Pineville. With all new computers and internet access as well as WiFi it is a very up to date facility. McDonald County School District has one consolidated high school in Anderson; all of the towns have their own grade schools with the newest one being built now in Rocky Comfort. Pineville has been the most progressive of all the towns building a sewer treatment plant that was three times larger than they needed at the time and they recently received grants from the state of Missouri to replace all the water and sewer lines in the town as well as passing a bond issue to complete the project. There are three campgrounds within a mile of Mountain Ridge making summer a lot of fun. Pineville has positioned itself to take full advantage of the growth and has been very cooperative to work with.
